Superior quality is a basic feature of Paštaria!
It was created by combining centennial tradition and modern technology. It is produced exclusively from durum semolina which contains more than 50% of protein compared to common wheat and does not contain cholesterol. Its quality is best expressed in both its taste and appearance. Particular care has been given to drying in the traditional way, at lower temperatures thus providing our pasta with higher nutritional values and as such is suitable for all types of dishes. Durum pasta is considered a desirable ingredient even in the vegetarian diet.
The Mediterranean diet is best shown through its flavours and scents, and when combined with Paštaria creates a veritable feast for the palate. A number of experts have linked Italian longevity to their diet. Mediterranean cuisine is known to decrease the risk of many diseases. Antioxidants from foodstuffs such as red wine and olive oil reduce blood cholesterol levels and protect against heart disease. Italians consume three to five times more pasta than Croatians so why not choose your favourite pasta, season it with a little sauce, some healthy spices and enjoy a healthy dish prepared with so much love. “Buon appetito” with Paštaria!
The history of pasta
The beginnings of pasta manufacturing have been related to Italy and France since the end of the 18th century. Following the example of Italian manufactures in Genoa and Naples, the first manufacturing plants were opened in Rijeka in the early 19th century. This was also the beginning of pasta manufacturing in Croatia. Since that time, Rijeka's pasta is a symbol of tradition and quality.
